Mary Kilgore Underrepresented Student Scholarship Fund
Must be a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior and demonstrate a financial need. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support to undergraduate students who have financial need and demonstrate characteristics that support WKU’s goal of promoting a diverse student body as a critical component to its educational mission. As part of this process, it is the preference of the donor that consideration be given to student who brings an element of diversity to the WKU student body through their age, race, ethnicity, creed, disability, or socioeconomic background so long as the effect of this scholarship does not discriminate against any others students from receiving equal consideration of financial aid funds from the pooling effect of available scholarship opportunities. Recipient must be a resident of the United States, with preference given to students from Kentucky and surrounding areas. Recipient must be majoring within Potter College of Arts & Letters, with preference given to Folk Studies, Anthropology, and Philosophy and Religion. Preference also given to a student minoring in African American Studies.
