Society of African American Alumni -- Daffney A. Henry Humanitarian Scholarship Fund

Must be a full-time student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and remain in good standing with WKU. Must be an incoming freshman from a single-parent household, was raised by an extended family member, or was in the foster care system, and who has financial need and demonstrates characteristics that support WKU’s goal of promoting a diverse student body as a critical component to its educational mission. As part of this process, it is the preference that consideration be given to students who are members of an underrepresented and historically disadvantaged group. in the event there are equally qualified candidates, it is the preference that first consideration be given to a Black or African-American student in support of the goal of a diverse student body so long as the effect of this scholarship does not discriminate against any other students from receiving equal consideration of financial aid funds from the pooling effect of available scholarship opportunities. First preference shall go to a student who is majoring in the College of Health and Human Services. Renewable for up to four years provided the recipient continues to meet the established criteria.
