William Courtenay

William Howard Courtenay III, was born on April 10, 1923, to William Howard and Mary Tisdale Anderson Courtenay. A Louisville, Kentucky, native, William was a World War II Air Force veteran. He was a retired member of the Department of Physics at WKU. He passed away at the age of 83 on June 24, 2006.

To further give back to the university, William established the William Courtenay Student Aid Fund in May of 1971. The fund assists deserving full-time WKU students in pursuing their educational goals. Through this fund, William’s legacy on the Hill lives on in perpetuity.
