Topper Pride

The WKU Topper Pride Chapter of the Alumni Association strives to establish a purpose-driven network of LGBTQIA+ alumni and allies, forming a community of support and a pipeline of individuals to enhance the diversity, equity, and inclusion in volunteer roles for alumni and donors. The primary goals of the chapter include engaging LGBTQIA+ alumni and allies in campus programs that support students, faculty, and staff by organizing fundraising events and activities in support of the WKU Pride Center or other LGBTQIA+ programs, services, or scholarships at WKU. These goals include providing comprehensive educational support as a resource for members within the LGBTQIA+ community, allies, and members of the WKU Alumni Association. The chapter’s values include demonstrated support and inclusion for all community members and allies, and its core beliefs are founded in empowering members of the community to join and benefit from a network of shared values and guiding principles.

To further that mission, WKU alumni and members of the Topper Pride Chapter established the Topper Pride Scholarship Fund in 2021. This fund assists deserving full-time WKU sophomore, junior, senior, and graduate students who have financial need, demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the Topper Pride Chapter and to LGBTQIA+ equity and inclusion, and have a record of community leadership and involvement. Through this fund, the legacy of WKU Pride Chapter lives on in perpetuity.
