Steve and Jill Brown

Steve R. Brown was born May 13, 1975. Steve attended WKU, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 1997. He then attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and earned a Master of Professional Accountancy there. As a student, Steve was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma fraternities, and the College Republicans.

Since his academic career, Steve has had a successful career. He is a CPA in both Tennessee and Kentucky. He has worked for various corporations and foundations, and is now a partner in Brown and Maguire, CPAs, PLLC. He is also a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. For his achievements in his field, he was named the WKU Outstanding Recent Accounting Alumnus.

Valorie “Jill” Brown was born March 2, 1974. Jill is also a WKU alumna, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology in 1997. She continued her studies at the University of Tennessee as well and there earned a Master of Social Work degree. She and Steve have two children.

Since their time on the Hill, Steve and Jill have remained loyal supporters of the university. To further give back, they established the Steve and Jill Brown Scholarship Fund in 2012. The fund assists deserving students pursuing their degrees at WKU. Through this fund, Steve and Jill’s legacies at WKU continue in perpetuity.
