Shartzer-Steenbergen
Mr. Robert Derron Steenbergen was born September 11, 1969. He graduated from WKU, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993. Since his days at WKU, Mr. Steenbergen has been very involved in the community and built a successful career as the Chief Revenue Officer of the Commonwealth Broadcasting Corporation.
Mrs. Krista Shartzer Steenbergen was born March 21, 1970. Krista also graduated from WKU in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and Political Science. She has also built a successful career for herself since graduating from WKU having served as Deputy County Judge for the Barren County Fiscal, Marketing Coordinator for McPeak Center for Eye Care, and then returning to her alma mater to serve as Development Director for Ogden College. She currently serves in the role of Senior Director of Development.
Krista and Derron Steenbergen have a full life outside of their successful careers with their three daughters, two of whom are also Hilltoppers. In recognition of their faithful contributions to WKU, the Steenbergens are members of the Society of 1906 and Cupola Society.
To forever carry on their Hilltopper legacy and pride, Krista Steenbergen established the Shartzer-Steenbergen Scholarship Fund in 2008. This fund demonstrates the Steenbergens belief in the importance of education and their dedication to WKU. This fund will assist and encourage worthy students attending WKU.
