Sarah and Mark Rogers
The Sarah and Mark Rogers Physics Enhancement Fund was established by Sarah and Mark Rogers on December 17, 2014.
Mark and Sarah met as students at Western Kentucky University when they were members of the Baptist Student Union. They became friends but didn’t really get to know each other until they became lab partners in a Physics class. They dated through the rest of their undergraduate years at WKU and got married eight days after graduating in May 2005.
Sarah graduated from WKU with a bachelor’s degree from Ogden College of Science and Engineering. She went on to receive her Masters of Science from Vanderbilt University in 2007. Mark graduated from WKU with a Bachelor of Science degree from Ogden College of Science and Engineering, as well. He then went on to receive his MBA from University of North Carolina Wilmington. Sarah is now employed at The Medical Center as a Physicist while Mark works for the James M. Pleasants Company as a Technical Engineering Support Specialist.
This scholarship fund is awarded to a female student pursuing a degree in physics and demonstrates the Rogers’ belief in the importance of education.
