Paul M. Bush
Paul M. Bush was born October 8, 1958 to Pleas M. and Mary Elizabeth Bush. Paul was a Murfreesboro, Tennessee, native and graduated from Edmonson County High School in 1975. He then attended WKU and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1984 and then with a Master of Arts in Education in 1988.
After graduation, he continued to pursue his passion for education. He taught at Tulsa Community College for five years before returning to WKU. He became a tenured Associate Professor of the Academic Support Department within the University College after teaching at WKU for over 15 years. He was also an avid member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and of the Kentucky Association for Developmental Education (KADE), where he served as both secretary and president throughout his time with the organization. He was married to Shirley Jean Bush and they had one son, Jeremiah. Paul passed away suddenly on December 20, 2013.
To honor his memory, family and friends established the Paul Bush Memorial Scholarship Fund in 2014. The fund assists deserving WKU students in achieving their academic goals. Through this fund, Paul’s memory is honored.
