Pat Little

Pat Little

Pat Little was the wife of Dr. Alton D. Little, who was a professor for 37 years in the Parks and Recreation Administration Department. Pat was the mother of their daughters, Patsy Anne and Betty Jean “BJ” Little Levis, who are both graduates of WKU. She was also the grandmother of Cameron Levis.

Pat moved to Kentucky with Dr. Little in the fall of 1971, as he pursued a career at WKU after completing his doctorate at the University of Georgia that summer. She was very supportive of the recreation department. She served as chaperone on recreation club camping trips, taught craft workshops for the students with help from Patsy and BJ, and went with Dr. Little as he visited students as they were doing internships. Each semester, students were welcomed to the Little House for a meal as part of certain courses he taught. Pat was always willing to help students, and that reputation made her loved by many students.

To show gratitude for her involvement with the department and students, the Pat Little Scholarship Fund was established. The fund assists deserving full-time undergraduate students at WKU who are majoring in recreation administration, express financial need, and maintain a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA. Through this fund, Pat’s legacy of generosity on the Hill and beyond continues in perpetuity.
