L.D Dow and Rebecca Rasdall
The Rasdall family are longtime friends of WKU. For many years, L. D. Rasdall has been an avid and generous supporter of the University. Before retiring, Mr. Rasdall was employed by the Dana Corporation. Until her passing in 2006, Mr. Rasdall was married to Dr. Joyce Rasdall, a WKU graduate and beloved professor in Family and Consumer Sciences. He and Joyce were deeply rooted in Christian faith and participated in many missionary trips, including to Mexico, Poland, Kenya, and Russia. Their children Rebecca Rasdall (Stobaugh) and Lorenzo Dow Rasdall IV are both WKU graduates.
Rebecca received her Master in Education from WKU. She also received a degree from Georgetown College, and her Doctorate from U of L. She has held a variety of educational jobs, including principal at Ohio County Middle School and her current position as a professor at WKU. Lorenzo graduated from WKU in 1994 with degrees in computer science and mathematics. He is currently in the insurance business in Texas.
To further their legacy at WKU, the family of L. D. and Rebecca established the L. Dow and Rebecca Rasdall Athletic Scholarship Fund in November, 1995. The fund serves to assist deserving members of the WKU Hilltopper Women’s Basketball team. Through this fund, the Rasdall family’s legacy on the Hill continues in perpetuity.
