Jewell Drummond

Jewell Drummond was born February 1, 1921. Jewell worked as the cafeteria manager at L.C. Curry Elementary school and ran concessions for Bowling Green’s Park and Recreation Department. She was always very involved in the Parent Teacher Organization, as well as the Special Olympics.

To honor her legacy, Johnny Douglas established the Jewell Drummond Scholarship Fund. The fund assists graduates of L.C. Curry Elementary or Parker Bennett Curry Elementary who have also graduated from Bowling Green High School. Through this fund, Jewell’s memory lives on in perpetuity.
