Jennifer Davis-Young
Jennifer Davis-Young was born August 18, 1949, to Paul and Geneva Davis in Barren County, Kentucky. Upon graduating from Caverna High School, she attended WKU to pursue her undergraduate degree. During her time on the Hill, she was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. After graduating in 1973 with a bachelor’s degree in medical technology and an American Society for Clinical Pathology certificate, she attended the University of Louisville for graduate studies and received her MBA from Bellarmine University.
Jennifer worked at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, for 20 years. She then moved to Ohio and worked at various hospitals in Lima, Toledo, Bluffton, and Findlay. She was a founding member of BROW of Blanchard Hospital for Celiac. She was also a lifetime member of Disabled Americans Amvets, Auxiliary of the American Legion, Women of the Moose, and the Cave City Baptist Church. She was married to Michael A. Young and had a step-daughter, Alicia. Jennifer passed away on September 4, 2004.
To honor her memory, Michael established the Jennifer Davis-Young Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund assists junior and senior students who are pursuing their bachelor’s degrees at WKU after completing associates degrees in medical technology. Through this fund, Jennifer’s legacy lives on in perpetuity.
