Geneve Mitchell

Geneve Anne “Nevann” Mitchell was born April 11, 1931, to John Comer and Golda Gibson Comer. A Lafayette, Indiana native, she graduated from Round Grove High School in 1949 and later graduated from Home Hospital Nursing School in 1952. She married Cletus Mitchell on August 22, 1954, at Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Round Grove Township. The two had five children: four sons and a daughter.

Geneve was a registered nurse for many years, serving Lafayette Home Hospital and Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois, before retiring in 1993 from The Medical Center. She was an avid reader and had many hobbies. She was truly a family-oriented person and cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchell made enormous contributions both to the nursing profession and to the Bowling Green community until her passing in November, 2010.
