Freda Embry

Mrs. Freda Clark Embry graduated from Norton Memorial Infirmary School of Nursing to earn her Diploma in Nursing. As a Registered Nurse, Mrs. Embry became a two-time graduate of Western Kentucky University. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1990 and a Master of Science of Nursing degree in 2001. After graduation, Freda chose to return to WKU as an assistant professor in the Department of Nursing.

Freda was married to the late Gerald Embry and has four daughters. Freda has been a loyal supporter of WKU and is a member of the Cupola Society. She is also a Lifetime Member of the WKU Alumni Association.

This scholarship fund was established by Mrs. Freda Embry and provides assistance and encouragement to deserving students who are pursuing a BSN at Western Kentucky University. In addition, this award recognizes Mrs. Embry’s belief in the importance of higher education.
