A. Franklin Brown (’86) graduated from WKU with a double major in Speech Communication and Broadcasting. While on the Hill, he was an active member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and the Inter-Fraternity Council. Franklin subsequently received a Master’s in Organizational Communication and Human Resource Management from Purdue University (’88) where he taught courses in Communications and Interviewing. He began an HR career with ExxonMobil Corporation in 1988 and eventually focused on International HR issues and International people strategies. Franklin was the Global HR Manager for key pieces of ExxonMobil’s global business portfolio which included Exploration and Gas & Power Marketing until his retirement in 2021. He also coordinated ExxonMobil’s U.S. HR professional hiring program. Franklin is originally from Liberty, Kentucky.

Melissa K. (Lindsey) Brown (’87) graduated from WKU with a major in Elementary Education. While on the Hill, she was an active member of Chi Omega Sorority. She taught 2nd grade in Georgia and Texas for seven years before “retiring” to raise three sons who have now completed their college educations. She has seen the value of quality teachers in elementary and secondary classrooms and is passionate about developing the next generation of educators. Melissa is originally from Bardwell, Kentucky.
