Dr. Robert C. Bueker
Dr. Robert “Bob” C. Bueker was a longtime fixture at WKU. Bob was born November 24, 1932. After completing his education, he came to the Hill in 1966, where he worked as the Head of the Department of Mathematics for 24 years. Throughout his time, he was a loyal fan and supporter of the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation and the Bowling Green Western Symphony Orchestra. He also served as the president of the board of directors for the orchestra for two terms, as well as other offices on the board. Even after retiring in 1990, Bob has continued to support and remained steadfast until his passing on May 18,2021. He was married to Helen M. Baker.
Upon his retirement, a special committee established the Dr. Robert C. Bueker Scholarship Fund to pay homage to Bob’s time at WKU. The fund assists deserving WKU students who are majoring in mathematics. Through this fund, Bob’s legacy on the Hill and beyond continues in perpetuity.
