Dr. George S. Beard

Dr. George S. Beard is an alumni of WKU, graduating with a Bachelor of Science and a master’s degree in biology. During his time on the Hill, George was an active student and as a freshman chosen as Mr. Freshman for the 1949-1950 school year. After graduation, he pursued his doctorate at the University of Louisville, earning a Doctor of Medicine there. He then served as a surgeon, helping the lives of many until his eventual retirement.

To pay his success forward, George established the George S. Beard Student Aid Fund in 1980. The fund assists deserving WKU students in achieving their academic goals. Through this fund, George continues to serve others in perpetuity.
