Dr. Curtis Cary

Dr. Curtis Cary was born October 15, 1978, in Louisville, Kentucky. Although born and raised in southwestern Jefferson County, he was well acquainted with south central Kentucky through his parents and extended family that hailed from Cumberland County Kentucky. He attended WKU from 1996 – 2000 earning a B.S. degree with majors in Biology and History. While at Western he also successfully completed the Honors Program preparing a thesis concerning experimental Chagas’ disease done under the supervision of Dr. Cheryl Davis. He then earned an MD degree and completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics with the University of Kentucky. Dr. Curtis Cary excelled after college and is currently the program director of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga.

This fund was established by Dr. Curtis Cary on April, 9 2018. The purpose of this fund is to assist deserving students at WKU who are pursuing a degree in Biology with a concentration in Pre-Medicine. Special consideration will be given to students with a second major in history. The establishment of this fund demonstrates Dr. Curtis Cary’s devotion to WKU and his belief in the importance of education.
