Bowling Green- Warren County Jaycees
Established in 1920, to provide opportunities for young men to develop personal and leadership skills through service to others, the Jaycees later expanded to include everyone ages 21 to 41. Jaycees provide members with the tools they need to build the bridges of success for themselves in the areas of business development, management skills, individual training, community service, and international connections. The organization has been a force for good in America and around the world. They helped establish AirMail services in America with Jaycee Charles Lindbergh and have raised millions of dollars for causes such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the March of Dimes. They have built parks, playgrounds, hospitals, ball fields, and housing for the elderly while conducting service and support programs in thousands of communities nationwide.
To further their mission, the Bowling Green-Warren County Jaycee Board of Directors established the Bowling Green-Warren County Jaycees Scholarship Fund and the Bowling Green-Warren County Jaycees—Ron Sowell/Tommy Adams Scholarship Fund. The Bowling Green-Warren County Jaycees Scholarship Fund assists deserving WKU freshmen who have either graduated from a Warren County high school or Bowling Green High School or have been residents of Warren County for more than five years. The Bowling Green-Warren County Jaycees—Ron Sowell/Tommy Adams Scholarship Fund honors Ron Sowell and Tommy Adams and assists deserving WKU freshmen who are residents of Warren County. Through these funds, the Jaycees continue their legacy in perpetuity.
