Bob Adams

The Bob Adams Scholarship was established to recognize the contribution Bob has made in the lives of students who worked on the College Heights Herald and Talisman staffs. His dedication and commitment to student publications at Western Kentucky University is an inspiration to many.

Mr. Bob Adams was born on April 4, 1942 and has epitomized the spirit of WKU ever since. Mr. Adams graduated in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science in English from the Potter College of Arts and Letters at Western Kentucky University. Later, in 1965, he graduated with a Master of Arts degree. In 1999, Mr. Adams took the title of Student Publications Director for Western Kentucky University, a position he held until 2012. Throughout his professional career, he has earned many awards and honors. In 2006, he was inducted into the College Media Advisor Hall of Fame following being named to the Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame in 2005. He is a member of the Cherry Society and a loyal member of the Cupola Society. In addition, Mr. Adams was inducted in the Hall of Distinguished Alumni in 2007. Mr. Adams has left an unparalleled effect on the journalism and publications world of WKU.

Mr. Adams is married to Mrs. Sandra Adams, and they have six children.

Selection of the scholarship winner is based on the recipient’s involvement with the Herald, leadership, demonstrated aptitude and attitude, scholarship and financial need.
