A.A Gorin

Alfred Allen “A.A.” Gorin was born in Green County in 1916. A.A. came to WKU as a basketball player for Coach E.A. Diddle. He was a very successful basketball player and made the All-Conference team during his time as a student. After graduation, A.A. moved to Nashville and had a successful career as a businessman. He was also a Mason, Shriner, and member of Brookhollow Baptist Church. He married Mrs. Sammie O. Gorin, who he was married to until her passing in 1996. The couple had one son. Mr. Gorin passed away September 11, 1999.

To further his history at WKU, A. A. established the A.A. Gorin Scholarship Fund in November, 1973. The fund was created to assist WKU students from Green County. Through this fund, A.A.’s legacy on the Hill continues in perpetuity.
