Future Attorney Scholarship Fund

Must be a full-time, first-time freshman or first-time transfer student. Must be majoring in the Legal Studies Bachelor of Arts program which requires a second major or or minor, the recipient’s second major or minor must be a program in the Department of History. Must have a minimum high school and/or cumulative GPA of 3.0. Must submit an essay of 500 words or less explaining plans to study and practice law in Kentucky. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support to students who have financial need and demonstrate characteristics that support WKU’s goal of promoting a diverse student body as a critical component to its educational mission. As part of this process, it is the preference of the donors that consideration be given to students who are members of an underrepresented and historically disadvantaged group (Black or African American, Hispanic or Latinx, American Indian or Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, Asian or Asian American, or two or more races). In the event there are equally qualified candidates, it is the preference of the donor that consideration be given to a student in one of these groups in support of the goal of a diverse student body so long as the effect of this scholarship does not discriminate against any other students from receiving equal consideration of financial aid funds from the pooling effect of available scholarship opportunities.
