James K. Phillips
Dr. James K. “Jim” Phillips, Jr. was born in August of 1947. Jim graduated with honors from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1974. He also completed an internship at Savannah Memorial Medical Center before coming to Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Over the past several decades, Jim has become a fixture in the Bowling Green, Kentucky, community as a family medicine specialist. He has nearly 50 years of diverse experiences in medicine and is licensed to practice in both Kentucky and Georgia. He is affiliated with many hospitals including The Medical Center at Bowling Green, TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital, the Kentucky Academy of Family Practice, the American Medical Association, the Kentucky Medical Association, and the Warren County Medical Society. He corporates with many other doctors and specialists in the area.
Jim is also chairman of the board for Monticello Banking Corporation. He is married to Faye Christian Phillips. He and Faye are both avid supporters of WKU.
As such generous supporters, Jim established the College Heights Foundation Special Incentive Scholarship Fund (James K. Phillips) in 2009. The fund assists deserving female WKU students who are majoring in nursing and are from Kentucky. Through this fund, Jim’s legacy on the Hill and in the Bowling Green community lives on in perpetuity.
